Why have a video? Why engage in video marketing?
I was very close to not making this video! In my day to day biz I have zero interest in explaining to customers why they need video. They either get it or they don’t (“…do you agree with me or do you not understand…” as my friend Joe used to say).
I’m more interested in talking when and how! If you or your colleagues or spouse etc are sitting on the fence about whether or not video will help them sell more, raise more, reach more people, then this video post is for all ya’ll! Click play on the vid below or scroll down and read further!
Here are some stats:
90% of surveyed online shoppers found video helpful in making shopping decisions. –comscore.com
Online shoppers are 64% more likely to buy a product if that product has a corresponding video – comscore.com
If you are designing and selling a product online like jewelry…take a few items from your collection, get out your phone and take a short video of each item. But that video on Instagram, Pinterest and most importantly your website’s sales page. See if those items move any faster, and in greater numbers. I bet they might!
A stat for the fundraisers in the house:
Not-for-profits who engage in videos and social media generate up to 40% more fundraising results. – npegage.com
We partnered in the past with a local communications company that was helping an Ontario private school in raising significant funding for some new facilities. Chockablock created targeted video content speaking directly to donors. Those videos, combined with the print collateral had the school reaching its targets months in advance and adding a whole new building to their list of new items. So basically for every $1,000 they spent with us, their donors gave over 1M. Pretty good!
Video to boost enrollment:
This is for all the language schools, daycares, universities, colleges, summer camps, biz coaches selling programs etc. If you need more bums in seats video can help you hit targets.
In April we partnered again and created a bunch of short “sharable” video testimonials from graduates of a law program at an Ontario university. The dean was looking to increase the number of qualified applicants applying to their program. The 40+ short videos (some were 15 sec long) contributed to the school enjoying triple the applicants over the previous year. And the newspaper that featured the short vids in their on-line national Canadian paper said that it was one of their best click-through campaigns to date. Pretty good, right?
Finally…the big stat for all of us:
By 2018 79% of all Internet traffic will be video –cisco.com
Er, wow! Get on it and don’t be left behind. Use your phone, borrow a camera, just get making videos. And let me know your results!
Yours in profits and happy filming,
Allyson
